Fruity Owl Pancakes

Fruity Owl Pancakes - Baby Food Recipes

Happy pancake day! I woke up this morning inspired to make fruit-themed pancakes for L, and that’s exactly what I did. What better way to celebrate today than with owl-shaped pancakes made with berries & bananas?

L had so much fun with these. Especially since Owls are one of her favorite animals. She even makes the adorable little ‘hoot-hoot’ sound, it kills me every time.

Recipe’s below, have fun and go crazy:

P.s. excuse the quality of my photo, but it’s so cloudy today that I might just as well have taken this photo in the dark ?

Serves: 6 pancakes Cooking Time: 15 mins

Ingredients

  • 6tbsp flour
  • 1tbsp sugar
  • 1tsp baking powder
  • 1 egg
  • 1tsp vanilla extract
  • 150ml (3/4 cup) milk
  • Butter

Instructions

1

Whisk together the flour, baking soda and sugar.

Add the egg, milk and vanilla extract and mix well.

3

Heat a large pancake pan (flat).

4

When the pan is hot, add a bit of butter and let it melt.

5

Slowly pour the pancake batter, so that it runs out into a nicely even circle.

6

Cook the pancakes for about 1 minute on each side, until golden brown.

7

Remove from heat, and decorate with berries and bananas.

Notes

I used bananas and blueberries for the eyes, strawberries for the wings, raspberries for the feathers and whipped cream for the ears 😉
